Brown Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup paked brown sugar
Preparation:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar.
- Beat in egg, heavy cream, and vanilla.
- Slowly add in flour, baking powder and salt.
- If dough seems to dry, add water, 1/2 teaspoon at a time.
- Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 1/8
of an inch.
- Cut with cookies cutters and place 1 1/2 inches apart on
cookie sheets.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly colored.
Makes 24 Servings

Delightfully Delicious Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, beat together the white sugar, brown
sugar, oil and shortening until smooth.
- Stir in eggs and vanilla, beating well after
each addition.
- Combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt
stir into the sugar mixture.
- Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto an unprepared cookie sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
- Remove from baking sheet to cool on wire racks.
Makes 36 Servings

Honey Bars
Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup honey
- 2 teaspoons almond extract
- 1 cup dates, pitted and chopped
- 1 cup chopped almonds
- 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration
Preparation:
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt, and set aside.
- Beat eggs in a large bowl until thick and lemon colored.
- Beat in honey and almond extract.
- Gradually add in dry ingredients blending well.
- Stir in dates and almonds.
- Spread evenly in a 13x9 inch greased pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) 12-15 minutes until
lighty brown on top.
- Cool 2 minutes in pan.
- Cut into bars
- When cool, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

Italian Anisette Cookies
Ingredients:
- 4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 6 tablespoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon anise extract
- 1 teaspoon anise extract
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot water
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)
- In large bowl, mix flour, baking powder and white sugar.
- Make a well in the center and add oil, milk, 1 tablespoon anise ectract,
and eggs.
- Mix together until dough is sticky.
- Oil fingers and pinch off dough in 1 inch pieces.
- Roll into a ball and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet, 1 inch
apart, flatten top slightly.
- Bake for 8 minutes.
- Dip cookies in icing while warm
Icing:
- Blend in 1 teaspoon anise extract and enough hot water to 1 cup
confectioner's sugar to form a smooth icing.
Makes 18 Servings
