About the Recipe


  • 4 California Sunshine eggs, room temperature

  • 1-1/2 cups sugar

  • 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2-1/4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1-1/4 cups California Sunshine milk

  • 10 tablespoons butter, cubed

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

In a large bowl, beat eggs on high speed for 3-5 minutes.

Step 3

Add sugar and mix until light and fluffy.

Step 4

Mix together flour, baking powder and salt in separate bowl and gradually beat into the egg mixture, making a batter.

Step 5

Heat milk in a small saucepan, adding butter cubes until they melt.

Step 6

Slowly add the milk mixture to the batter until combined and stir in vanilla.

Step 7

Pour batter into greased 9x13 baking pan.

Step 8

Bake 30 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 9

Let cool before serving. Top with whipped cream and a few berries or dust with powdered sugar.
